Date Night In

I was talking with a friend recently, and we both came to the conclusion that having a baby “brings out the ugly” in a relationship. Why wouldn’t it? We brought another (demanding) personality into the house, and we are all adjusting. We are running on fumes. Money is tighter than it used to be. It’s no surprise when all that pent up frustration gets unleashed on our poor partners.

I’ve noticed that while we are adjusting, the husband and I tend to get into ruts. While we really don’t need a night on the town all the time, I felt like it was time to shake things up a bit.

From now until the end of the year, we are going to have at least one Date Night In a week. I had us each brainstorm activities to add to the date night jar, with these criteria:

  • Must be something we can do at home once Little Dude goes to bed
  • Must be feasible without planning ahead or having special materials
  • Must take us out of our comfort zone and, preferably, be a bit cheesy

I would love for you to join me and create your own Date Night In jars. Here are some ideas to get you started…

I would love to hear some of your ideas in the comments below, or on social media. I can’t wait to see how the first date goes!
